SiGMA Asia 2025 venue recognised as Best Convention and Exhibition Centre

The SMX Convention Centre in Manila, which will once again host SiGMA Asia in 2025, has solidified its reputation as a leader in the Philippines’ Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry by receiving several prestigious awards in 2024. Most notably, the SMX has been recognised as the Philippines’ Best Convention and Exhibition Centre at the 33rd edition of the TTG Travel Awards, held in Bangkok, Thailand. This annual event, which gathers the top professionals in the travel and tourism sectors, emphasised the centre’s growing reputation and commitment to excellence.

Michael Alba?a, Vice President and General Manager of SMX Convention Centre, emphasised the company’s focus on service excellence and innovation as key drivers of its success. “These awards reflect our focus on service excellence and our efforts to continuously push industry boundaries,” Alba?a remarked. “As the largest convention centre operator in the country, we’re proud to help drive the MICE sector forward while delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. SiGMA Asia 2025

The SMX Manila hosted two successful SiGMA Asia events in both 2023 and 2024, and in 2025, will host the upcoming edition of the gaming summit and conference.

The Philippines stands as an undisputed heavyweight in the gaming industry, making it the perfect location for a dedicated summit where key players in the online and land-based sector can come together. The event expects to welcome 20,000 delegates and has over 450 exhibitors and sponsors and 350 expert speakers already on board.

SiGMA Asia is also dedicating half of the ground floor at the SMX Convention Centre to land-based clients. Major brands, such as EGT and Amusnet have already confirmed their commitment, ensuring a stellar line-up of exhibitors and participants.

This recognition was just one of several honours SMX received this year. The convention centre operator was also named Best Local Convention Centre 2024 – Philippines by APAC Insider’s South East Asia Business Review and Best Convention Centre – Philippines at the World MICE Awards. These accolades further underscore SMX’s pivotal role in shaping the MICE industry in the country.

The 33rd TTG Travel Awards, where SMX earned the prestigious title of Best Convention & Exhibition Centre – Philippines, highlighted the trust that travel consultants, tour operators, and destination management companies place in the venue. As the only convention centre in the country to receive such widespread recognition, SMX has set a new benchmark for the industry, reaffirming its status as the go-to venue for large-scale events.

Eight branches are strategically located in key cities across the Philippines—such as Clark, Olongapo, Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Megatrade Hall in Ortigas, and SMX Aura at SM Aura Premier.

The SMX is set to open a larger facility in Cebu, reflecting the company’s commitment to further expanding its influence in the international MICE market.
